The Collaboration
DC101 partnered with Solace Brewing Co. to create Studio Session IPA, a custom craft beer inspired by the station's alternative rock identity.
I developed the illustrated packaging design, combining original music-inspired artwork, bold typography, and a vibrant green palette to create a label that captured DC101's personality while meeting the technical requirements of a printed beer can.
The collaboration extended beyond the packaging through supporting digital and social content, bringing the partnership to life across DC101's platforms.
From Illustration to Packaging
Studio Session IPA started with a collection of music-inspired illustrations, bringing together everything from speakers and microphones to skateboards, sneakers, and other details inspired by DC101's alternative rock personality.
The artwork was brought together with bold typography and a vibrant green palette to create a label that felt energetic, playful, and distinctly DC101.
The final design was prepared for a 16-ounce can, accounting for print-production requirements including bleed, die-cut boundaries, and copy limits.

Beyond the Label
The collaboration extended beyond the can through DC101's digital and social platforms, with promotional content introducing Studio Session IPA and bringing the partnership to the station's audience.
Supporting videos and social content helped connect the physical product with the station's broader identity.

The Finished Product
There's something especially satisfying about seeing an illustration go from a screen to an actual product.
For Studio Session IPA, the finished cans brought all those little details together, turning a digital design into something people could pick up, share, and enjoy.
