To transform The Band Perry’s return into a high-energy, multi-market fan experience by driving awareness, excitement, and real-time engagement across six free pop-up performances while maintaining a cohesive artist-forward identity across Baltimore and the DMV.

The Challenge

How do you make six performances across two days feel exciting and unique without overwhelming audiences with repetitive content?

Because Baltimore’s activation happened first, there was also a strategic need to preserve excitement for the following day’s DMV takeover. The challenge became balancing real-time coverage while intentionally pacing content, rotating moments, and ensuring audiences in both markets still experienced surprise and excitement.

At the same time, the project required live decision-making across moving schedules, multiple venues, artist access, severe weather pivots, same-day editing, and real-time publishing.

Creative Direction

Working from The Band Perry’s official Psycho Rodeo Tour creative system, I adapted artist-provided PSD assets into a custom “Psycho Rodeo RADIO Tour” campaign identity for Baltimore and DMV radio-exclusive pop-up performances.

The visual system was designed to feel authentic to the band’s existing brand while integrating station presence, local market relevance, and same-day event urgency.

The final adapted creative was approved by artist and label teams with no requested revisions.

Execution

Across two consecutive production days, I managed real-time social coverage, photography, video capture, editing, approvals, and live publishing for six performances across Baltimore and the DMV.

The activation included:

  • LIVE on-air appearance with Michael J & Candace on 93.1 WPOC

  • Artist-recorded radio liners

  • Camden Yards/Orioles activation, including ceremonial first pitch coverage

  • Six free performances across seven venues

  • Severe weather pivots during the DMV takeover

  • Same-day editing and publishing throughout both activations

Throughout the project, I served as the primary point of content approval and creative direction while collaborating with promotions support on-site.

Social Strategy

Rather than relying solely on repetitive concert clips, coverage focused on creating a more dynamic, emotionally resonant social experience.

Content intentionally mixed:

  • Performance highlights

  • Backstage and candid artist moments

  • Fan reactions and singalongs

  • Trend-forward video formats and audio

  • Venue-specific storytelling

Because Baltimore preceded the DMV activation, content was intentionally paced to preserve mystery and excitement for the following day while still maximizing engagement in real time.

Results

The takeover generated strong engagement across WPOC and WMZQ social channels throughout both activations.

Performance Highlights

  • 61K+ views on top-performing WPOC content

  • Multiple Baltimore posts generating 10K–40K+ views

  • Multiple WMZQ same-day reels/posts generating 1K–4K+ views

  • 200K+ total social views/impressions across the activation

By prioritizing content variety, emotional storytelling, and platform-native formats, the campaign maintained strong momentum across six performances without audience fatigue.

Outcome

Coordinating a two-market tour across multiple venues, artists, partners, and stations required balancing creative consistency with real-time execution. From campaign branding through live coverage, the project demonstrated my ability to manage large-scale event marketing while maintaining a cohesive visual identity across every touchpoint.
