The Campaign
Elliot in the Morning's Tiki Takeovers bring the show's personality into a themed live experience at Tiki TNT on The Wharf in DC, with artwork that changes from one edition to the next.
For each takeover, I develop a visual direction that feels distinct while staying connected to the larger event series, combining typography, digital compositing, and playful details inspired by the tiki theme.
Reimagining a Familiar Event
An annual event doesn't have to look the same every year. The creative challenge is developing a fresh identity for each edition while keeping enough familiar elements for listeners to recognize the event.
For The Head and the Heart in 2025, I built the artwork in Photoshop, combining elements I illustrated with objects I pulled from photography, from carved tiki totems and flames to a tropical cocktail and speakers, and brought them together into one cohesive scene.

The Finished Experience
The takeovers come to life through photography too. I photograph the performances, the crowd, and candid moments with the artists, showing how the tiki setting at Tiki TNT becomes part of the experience.
At SHAEDโs takeover in June 2024, the carved masks, hanging lamps, and neon signage made the venue feel like an extension of the event branding.

A New Perspective Each Time
Tiki Takeovers is an opportunity to revisit a familiar event with a new creative perspective, building on an established identity while giving each edition something of its own.
